“Cleopatra” by the renowned choreographer Vasily Medvedev is a grandiose work, that in many ways goes beyond classical ballet. “Cleopatra” is about the last Empress of Egypt, the successor of Alexander the Great, the legendary conqueror of hearts who is an inspiration to poets, composers, artists, and directors. Her character has been repeatedly recreated in all kinds of art, and today we are turning again to the history of the beautiful and mysterious Cleopatra.
The ballet is created specifically for the National Opera and Ballet, it is a production run by an international team of authors from five countries. Cleopatra is great, grandiose, colorful show, one that goes beyond the ordinary classical ballet, with cinematic effects, fantastic light and sound, adapted with new technologies.
