Lola is the wife of the collar\, Alfaro.\nPrior to joining the army\, Turidu was engaged to Lola\, but in the meantime she married the wealthy Alfio. Disappointed after returning from the army\, Turidu looks for solace in the arms of the village girl\, Santucca.\nSantucca\, is a sinner in the eyes of the villagers\, alone and rejected by all. Unable to overcome her jealousy\, she tells Taurid’s mother\, Lucia\, about her son’s sin.\nAlfio returns from a long journey and tells how he saw Turidu beside his house.\nSantucca's and Alfio’s words throw Lucia in doubt and fear.\nTuridu arrives and Santucca wants to talk to him\, but is stopped by Lola who is parading with him while they enter the church.\nSantuca\, is standing if front of the closed church doors\, alone. Alfio comes by and she tells him about his wife's adultery. He promises revenge. Only then does Santucca realize what she's done\, but it's already too late.\nIn order to save her beloved and restore her honor to the villagers\, she goes to the carabinieri to stop Alfio in retaliation and rescue Turidu.\nAfter church service\, Turidu invites his friends to have a drink at his bar. Lola and Alfio are coming. Thuridou watches them dance.\nAfter fighting\, Turidu and Alfio decide to go into a duel.\nTuridu no longer has an exit and turns to his mother to keep Santusa if he doesn't come back.\nHis mother\, Lucia is confused. Santuca arrives late with the carabinieri.\nYou can only hear: "Turidu is dead".
